1. Introduction

Hirevers ("we", "our", "us") operates the hirevers.com platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: name, email address, and profile photo provided by Google or GitHub when you sign in.
  • Profile information: bio, skills, location, hourly rate, links, and any content you add to your profile, services, portfolio, or job postings.
  • Application data: CV files, cover letters, and portfolio links submitted when applying to jobs. CVs are sent as email attachments and are not stored on our servers.
  • Payment information: when you pay via card, bank transfer, e-wallet, or other local payment methods, your payment is processed by a licensed third-party payment processor. We do not collect or store your full card number, bank credentials, or e-wallet login details — these are handled entirely by the payment processor. We only receive a transaction reference, payment status, and amount to activate your account. If you pay via Bitcoin, we store the wallet address and transaction hash you provide and verify it on the public blockchain.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, services or jobs you interact with, and approximate location inferred from your IP address for service purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account and public profile.
  • To connect freelancers with businesses through services, job postings, and applications.
  • To process and verify payments and activate business accounts or advertisements.
  • To send transactional emails such as application confirmations and payment receipts.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • To improve the Service through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these cases:

  • Public profile data: your name, photo, bio, skills, services, and portfolio are visible to anyone visiting the platform, since this is the core purpose of the Service.
  • Job applications: when you apply to a job, your name, email, CV, and cover letter are sent directly to the business that posted the listing.
  • Payment processors: when you choose to pay using a card, bank transfer, e-wallet, or other local payment method, your payment details are shared directly with a licensed, PCI-compliant third-party payment processor to complete the transaction. We never see or store your full payment credentials.
  • Service providers: we use trusted third-party providers for cloud hosting, database management, file storage, email delivery, and error monitoring. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the Service and are bound by their own confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Payments

Business account and advertisement payments can be made via card, bank transfer, e-wallet, and other local payment methods (collectively, "fiat payments"), or via Bitcoin.

  • Fiat payments are processed by a licensed, regulated third-party payment processor. Your card or account details are entered directly with the processor and are never stored on our servers. We only receive confirmation of payment status and a transaction reference to activate your account.
  • Bitcoin payments are verified by checking public blockchain data through mempool.space. Blockchain transactions are inherently public and permanent; we do not control or have the ability to delete this public ledger data. We only store the wallet address and transaction hash you provide to match your payment to your account.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, services, portfolio, job postings, reviews, and bookmarks are permanently removed from our database. Emails already sent (such as job application emails) cannot be recalled from recipients' inboxes. Payment records may be retained longer where necessary for fraud prevention or legal compliance.

7. Your Rights

  • You can view and edit most of your profile data directly from your dashboard.
  • You can permanently delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
  • You can request a copy of the data we hold about you by contacting us.

8. Security

We use industry-standard practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), OAuth-based authentication (no passwords stored on our servers), licensed and PCI-compliant payment processing, rate limiting, and input validation to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to the Service.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
